THE FF+ in the Northern Cape has expressed shock over the death of Ernst Human, who was murdered on his plot near Jan Kempdorp on the weekend.

The deceased was found in his study with his hands and feet bound, while he had suffered injuries to his thighs, on Saturday night.

A 46-year-old woman has since been called in for questioning by the police.

FF+ provincial leader Dr Wynand Boshoff said on Monday that Human was a member of the farm safety and security group in the Vaalharts area.

“Fellow members of the group went to investigate when he did not react on his two-way radio,” said Boshoff.

He believed that the incident exposed the vulnerability of residents living on farms and in far-lying areas.

“Although farm murders are a regular occurrence, it is shocking and unnecessary. Government should do more to prioritise the prevention of these crimes. The FF+ sends its condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones.”
