#FarmAttack Police find elderly couple’s bodies

THE BODIES of the elderly couple who were attacked and abducted from their smallholding in Magogong near Hartswater on the weekend, were found on Tuesday afternoon.

Danie Brand, 83, and his wife Breggie, 79, along with their daughter Elzabie, 50, were reported missing from the smallholding on Sunday, while vehicles were stolen from the property.

Elzabie’s body was found on Tuesday morning, near Takaneng village near Taung.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo stated that the elderly couple’s bodies were found in the veld near Takaneng village on Tuesday afternoon, near to where their daughter’s body was found. 

He added that a fifth suspect had been arrested – a 36-year-old male.

“The suspects are expected to appear in court on Thursday.”

The police had earlier arrested four suspects, aged 18, 19, 20 and 42 years.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba said the five suspects would appear in the Hartswater Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on three charges of murder, kidnapping and theft of motor vehicles.
