THE Sol Plaatje Municipality is working diligently to restore electricity supply to extensive areas in Galeshewe that were impacted by recent power outages. The outages were caused by an exploded feeder, and their teams are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Spokesperson for Sol Plaatje Municipality,Thabo Mothibi, said the electrical department was attending to the 66 kilovolt transformer at Galeshewe substation at the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature feeder on Wednesday.

“A clean up and proper assessment on the extent of damage is being undertaken.”

Mothibi said areas being supplied from the Witdam substation such as Ramorwa, Blikkiesdorp and parts of Vergenoeg, were expected to have their power supply restored first.
