THE DOUGLAS police arrested two men and confiscated drugs worth almost R10,000 during a roadblock on the Douglas/Kimberley road.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said the men were arrested after the police stopped and searched a white VW Polo during the roadblock on Friday.

“The police confiscated drugs worth almost R10,000. They seized 761 full mandrax tablets, 20 half mandrax tablets and 30 quarter mandrax tablets,” said Kock.

“The police also seized the white VW Polo as it was allegedly utilised in the commission of a crime.

“The two male suspects should be appearing in the Douglas Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of dealing in drugs.”
