DA welcomes new MPL to NC legislature

Kgomotso Charity Mohapanele replaces Grantham Steenkamp after his application to have the termination of his membership with the DA and Northern Cape Provincial Legislature reviewed, was dismissed in the Northern Cape High Court.

DA MEMBER of the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature Kgomotso Charity Mohapanele was sworn in by Speaker Newrene Klaaste this week.

She replaces Grantham Steenkamp after his application to have the termination of his membership with the DA and Northern Cape Provincial Legislature reviewed, was dismissed in the Northern Cape High Court last week.

DA provincial chairperson Isak Fritz said that Mohapanele’s upbringing was grounded in politics.

“She is a seasoned politician with experience in local government, having served as a councillor for Sol Plaatje Municipality. She is also passionate about uplifting communities, tackling gender-based violence and relentless in her pursuit of the truth,” said Fritz.
