Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Province

The Covid-19 cases in the Northern has increased from 2 044 to 2 197 in the last 24-hours.

The Frances Baard recorded 64 new cases, Pixley Ka Seme district 52 new additional cases, John Taolo Gaetsewe 11 new cases, ZF Mgcawu district eight new cases and Nakawa district recorded five new cases. 

The Minister of Health, Dr. Zweli Mkhize said the death toll in the Province is 15.

Mkhize said 40 328 people in the Province have been tested for Covid-19 and a total 2 105 891 people have been screened thus far.

He urged anyone who might test positive for Covid-19 to self-isolate.

“If you test positive for Covid-19, you should immediately start self-isolating. If you have not done so already at the onset of possible symptoms. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you may be able to safely self-isolate at home but if you present with severe symptoms, you may require hospitalisation.,” he said.
