Cops hunt for murder suspect

THE GALESHEWE Police have requested members of the public to assist in tracing a suspect linked to a murder that occurred in November this year.

Police spokesperson Captain Bashaobile Kale said the suspect has been on the run since the incident.

“It is alleged that the suspect, Sipho Mhlongo, 25, robbed the victim of his cellphone and stabbed him twice in the neck before he fled the scene. The incident occurred on November 14, 2019 at about 9pm in Donkerhoek. The victim died in hospital. A case of murder has been opened and is being investigated by the Galeshewe detectives,” said Kale.

He urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the police. “The police are pleading with the public to assist with the whereabouts of the suspect and anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Steven Wax, on the following numbers:
