CITY veteran Oupa Sarel Muhudi celebrated his 100th birthday recently.

Ward 16 councillor Casper Rammutle said he arranged birthday refreshments, a cake and assorted biscuits as part of plans to celebrate and honour Muhudi’s milestone.

A birthday celebration was held for Muhudi, who was born on January 4, 1924, at his home in Tswelelang.

“I presented him with an ANC shirt that was specially designed by Pastor Theo in Ghana to honour a living icon who has first-hand knowledge of apartheid and World War II. He is a blessing to Ward 16 and the entire country. He enjoyed the refreshments and was so happy to have such a day,” said Rammutle.
