HOMEVALE High School has been closed for decontamination after a teacher tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

Northern Cape Department of Education spokesperson Lehuma Ntuane said on Wednesday that contact tracing of all persons and pupils who were in close contact with the teacher was under way.

Ntuane indicated that schooling would resume on Thursday.

“Parents were notified of the temporary closure of the school by way of a formal letter. Whenever there is a confirmed case of Covid-19, the school is closed to allow for decontamination,” said Ntuane.
