A KIMBERLEY resident, Jim Horing, has been sentenced to serve 25 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of rape and assault GBH sentence.

Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock said the incident took place on November 7 when the accused and his 41-year-old girlfriend went to bed at their home at the Diamond Park shanties in Greenpoint.

“Horing forcefully and severely raped the woman who suffered serious injuries.

“Two days later the boyfriend fetched the victim at work and assaulted her severely after accusing her of having an affair with her boss.”

He added that Horing was arrested on November 14, 2021 after a charge was laid against him.

“He remained in custody until he was sentenced in the Galeshewe backlog court on June 3.”

The acting deputy provincial commissioner for crime detection, Brigadier Nicky Mills applauded Detective Sergeant Mario Sethlow from the Kimberley Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit for his meticulous investigation that led to the conviction of the accused.
