A KIMBERLEY man, Gareth Clarke, made his second appearance in the Sexual Offences Court on Tuesday, where he is facing 15 charges of possession of child pornography.

The case was postponed until later next month.

His lawyer indicated during Tuesday’s court appearance that they will make an application to the Director of Public Prosecutions for the charges against Clarke to be withdrawn or for the matter to be settled out of court.

A decision on the application is expected to be made at Clarke’s next court appearance.

Clarke is accused of being in possession of pictures of a naked child on his cellphone.

He is further accused of sending pictures of himself to minor girls.

Clarke, a youth leader, is the son of Pastor Edwin Clarke from the Life Church Assemblies in Kimberley.

It has been reported that Clarke was working at a local primary school as a sports instructor earlier this year.
