City faces six-hour blackout

PARTS of Kimberley will be without an electricity supply on Thursday, January 13 between 9am and 3pm.

Sol Plaatje Municipality spokesperson Sello Matsie said on Tuesday that this was to allow for maintenance work to be carried out at the HA Morris, Midlands, Galeshewe and Carters Glen sub-stations.

“The electricity interruption will be limited to six hours. All electrical appliances should be treated as live and dangerous at all times. We regret the inconvenience,” said Matsie.
