The victim left the club followed by the suspects who were apparently demanding sexual favours
POLICE in Kimberley have called for public assistance in tracing two suspects who allegedly attacked a woman at a local nightclub in December.
In a media statement issued on Friday, SAPS provincial spokesperson, Captain Olebogeng Tawana, explained that the suspects are facing several charges, including assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and robbery common following the incident.
“It is alleged that on December 17 last year the suspects spent a night together with a 25-year-old woman at a nightclub in Kimberley,” said Tawana. “The suspects apparently bought the victim a few intoxicating beverages and one of the suspects introduced himself to the victim as Michael.”
Tawana said that later that evening, the victim left the club followed by the suspects who were apparently demanding sexual favours.
“The victim refused. The suspects then robbed the victim of her belongings, assaulted her and touched her in an uncomfortable manner,” Tawana said
“They subsequently fled the scene, in an unknown direction, in a Tata vehicle.”
The suspects are described as being between the ages of 22 and 30, and about 1.65m tall.
“Any information that can assist us to bring the suspects to book can be communicated to the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant David Tau, at 082 3020 468 / 053 8384 200 or SAPS Crime Stop line 08600 10111,” said Tawana.
