Body of missing Orania girl found

The body of 19-year-old Klarissa Joubert, who disappeared in the Orange River at Orania on Thursday, was found at around lunchtime on Monday, January 25.

THE BODY of 19-year-old Klarissa Joubert, who disappeared in the Orange River at Orania on Thursday, was found at around lunchtime on Monday, January 25.

Her body was found close to the spot where she disappeared.

Orania Security Services, the South African Police Service and town representatives were on the scene to complete the search and rescue operation that stretched over four days.

Joubert fell from a tube during an outing with friends on the Orange River.

All those involved in the search operation were applauded by the chairperson of Orania Beweging, Joost Strydom.

Joubert’s family members expressed their thanks towards the community of Orania, the volunteers, their friends from Ermelo, the SAPS and all those who helped.

The family made a special request for privacy during their time of mourning.
