THE BODY of a 16-year-old Kimberley girl was found in a storeroom at a house in Beaconsfield on Sunday.

The deceased, Simoné le Roux, was reported missing last week.

Police spokesperson Captain Tessa Jansen said that the Kimberley police went to the house at about 9.30am on Sunday, where they were informed by the landlord that he had found the body of a young girl when he went into his storeroom at the back of his house.

Jansen indicated that the deceased matched the description of a girl who had been reported missing.

“The teenager went missing on Friday, April 2 and her family reported the matter to the Kimberley SAPS on Saturday,” she said.

Jansen added that the police had opened an inquest docket.
