THE BODY of a 40-year-old man who was allegedly kidnapped on the weekend was found by a passer-by in the veld near Samaria Road in Kimberley on Tuesday.
The man was reportedly kidnapped in Samaria Road on Saturday after he apparently went to meet four men for a “business appointment”.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said the police are investigating a case of murder, kidnapping and theft of a motor vehicle.
Kock said the police found the man’s red Opel Corsa bakkie abandoned in the vicinity of the crime scene on Monday at around 9pm.
“The incident occurred on Saturday, June 18 at about 4pm and police are still looking for four unknown male suspects whom the deceased met for a business appointment,” said Kock.
“The men allegedly fired some shots, kidnapped the victim and fled with his red Corsa bakkie, with registration number BSX 069 NC.”
