The Augrabies police have requested the public’s assistance in tracing a man who allegedly raped a woman on January 23.
THE AUGRABIES police have requested the public’s assistance in tracing a man who allegedly raped a woman in a dilapidated building near Cape Agri in Augrabies on January 23.
Police spokesperson Captain Nelis Prins said the woman was approached by an unknown man, who threatened her with a knife.
“On January 23, 2022, at approximately 3pm, the complainant was walking alone along the R359 road near Greenfields settlements. The suspect allegedly threatened her with a knife and robbed her of her cellphone.
“The suspect then took the female victim at knifepoint to a derelict building close to Cape Agri in Augrabies, where he raped her.
“The suspect is described as being coloured, between the ages of 20 to 25 years old, slender of build and approximately 1.6 metres tall. He was wearing a green golf T-shirt and a blue baseball cap at the time of the incident.
