The party believes this decision will bring stability to the municipality.
THE ANC has welcomed the decision to dissolve Phokwane Local Municipality, where service delivery has ground to a halt, due to infighting among councillors.
ANC provincial secretary Deshi Ngxanga believed that this would bring stability to the municipality.
“We are pleased that provincial government has taken a decision to dissolve the council. The ANC is of the firm view that this intervention will bring the much needed calm in the municipality. The people have been at the receiving end of the instability.”
He called upon all structures in the Phokwane region to accept the decision and exercise discipline.
“Municipalities are a catalyst for development. It is unfortunate that the municipal council failed to execute their executive and meet its constitutional obligations.
“All members and supporters of the ANC are called to support the decision to dissolve the municipality for the benefit and betterment of the people of the Phokwane district.”
