THE RE-ELECTED ANC provincial executive committee has resolved to urgently establish a provincial integrity committee.

ANC provincial secretary Deshi Ngxanga said the committee will deal with protecting and enhancing the integrity of the ANC in the Province.

“The provincial conference further resolved to strengthen the fight against corruption and malfeasance in the movement. The step aside rule will be enforced on members who are involved in acts of corruption.”

He added that the step aside resolution would be implemented “without fear or favour”.

“The renewal process within which the step aside rule is central and where no position, stature or title is considered to be sacrosanct, it must be blind.”

Ngxanga advised that the moratorium on appointment of provincial government posts should be lifted with immediate effect.

“This should be done to prioritise staff shortages at the Department of Health and the Department of Education.

“Provincial Government should play a more direct and active role in economic recovery through the state construction company and the state mining company while industrialisation should be placed at the heart of the provincial economic recovery plan.”
