ANC branch representatives in legal bid to interdict the outcome of the Frances Baard regional conference and the holding of the upcoming provincial conference.
ANC BRANCH members in the Northern Cape are heading to court to interdict the upcoming ANC provincial conference and to challenge the outcome of the Frances Baard regional conference that was held this past weekend.
During the Frances Baard regional conference, ANC regional chairperson Mangaliso Matika was elected to serve a second term.
Neo Mase was elected as the deputy regional chairperson, along with regional secretary Wende Marekwa, deputy regional secretary Mock Lehoko Mocumi and regional treasurer Nondumiso Buda.
Rerani Mdludla Incorporated attorneys confirmed on Thursday that legal papers would be served to the ANC secretary-general/deputy secretary-general, the ANC national executive committee and the national dispute resolution committee, as well as the Northern Cape provincial executive committee, ANC provincial secretary and provincial dispute resolution committee, on Thursday, May 13.
“We act on behalf of branch representatives of the ANC in the Frances Baard region. Our instructions are to convey our clients’ dispute to the outcome of the regional conference held on May 7 to 9. We are further instructed to lodge an application to interdict the outcome of the said conference and the holding of the upcoming provincial conference.”
It was indicated that disputes were lodged with the provincial dispute resolution committee and the ANC national dispute resolution committee regarding branch bi-annual general meetings (BBGMs) and branch general meetings (BGMs) that were held in the run-up to the regional conference.
