THE ANC in the Northern Cape is certain that it will achieve nothing less than 70% of the vote in the upcoming elections.

The ANC in the Frances Baard region said at a press conference on Friday that the party has already done the groundwork to ensure that it reaches its set target.

ANC Frances Baard regional chairperson Mangaliso Matika said that the campaigns held by the party thus far had all been successful. “Our election campaign has created a positive vibe, hope and renewal in the region. The mood is electrifying on the ground as our people continue to respond positively as well as remain committed towards delivering an overwhelming victory in the region.

“We are currently in phase three of our election campaign and have doubled our efforts as we gear towards our Mayihlome, meaning Prepare for Battle, launch. The first and second phase of our election campaign started last year and it specifically focussed on research and setting up structures in preparation for the elections. It was necessary for us to first mobilise our own forces and conduct door-to-door campaigns in order to listen to the plight of the people,” he said

The provincial launch of the party’s manifesto will take place at the Galeshewe Stadium on February 2, Matika added.
