AN AMBULANCE that was stolen from the hospital premises in Pofadder was recovered along the N14 near the Gamsberg Mine on the weekend.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said that two suspects, aged 23 and 28 years old, were arrested for theft of a motor vehicle on Saturday.

He said the ambulance had been parked in front of the hospital when it was stolen at around 6pm on Saturday.

“The vigilance of members of the Pofadder SAPS led to the ambulance being recovered mere minutes after it was stolen from the hospital premises in Pofadder,” said Kock.

“The police recovered the ambulance on the N14 near the Gamsberg Mine between Pofadder and Aggenys.”

Kock added that the suspects were expected to appear in the Pofadder Magistrate’s Court soon.
