IN PREPARATION for possible water shortages in Kimberley, civil rights organisation AfriForum has purchased two additional water tanks of 1 000 litres each.

AfriForum in Kimberley said this provision was made after it had noted the water supply problems that were previously experienced in parts of city.

It said the water tanks would be transported to affected neighbourhoods to supply community members with water.

The provincial chairperson of AfriForum, Gideon Gouws, said the additional tanks would play a vital role in bringing relief to affected neighbourhoods.

“As a result of this latest purchase, we now have five water tanks available of 1 000 litres each to be used during emergencies and we are ready to assist members of the public should water problems arise again,” said Gouws.
