The woman won R500 000 in a Vodashake promotion.
A Kimberley resident won R500 000 in a Vodashake promotion this week.
She said that she participated in the promotion on a daily basis but was not expecting to win such a big prize.
“I still can’t believe it! I am usually very happy to get the vouchers. This is the first time that I have won anything in my whole life. I was contacted by Vodacom a few times but was unable to answer as I was either busy at work, or under the impression that someone was trying to sell me a contract or a phone.”
She added that she had not yet been able to absorb what had happened.
“I have no idea what I am going to do with the money as I am still in a state of shock. So far I only told my husband when I brought the cheque home on Thursday. I haven’t even informed my parents yet.”
She indicated that she intended to invest her prize and ensure that it was spent wisely.
“I will not be leaving my 9-5 pm job. There will be no shopping sprees or overseas holidays. The money will be used for necessities and to settle my debts. I will also invest in my children’s education and my family’s future.”
She jokingly added that she would consider buying a Jojo tank and a generator.
