The world is in a crisis. And guess what? All over the world the children are suffering. What have we done to deserve this?

EVEN young primary school children have been touched by the recent events. A Grade 5 pupil at Kimberley Islamic School, 12-year-old Ayesah Barday, wrote a poem to express her feelings:

The world is in a crisis. And guess what? All over the world the children are suffering. What have we done to deserve this?

I have heard in many speeches that we are the future. What future?

Adults are destroying everything around us, and what are you leaving us with? “A broken world?”

A world that we will need to rebuild. A world of hatred and evil. A world where women and children are the victims.

Today as children we stand united and make our voices heard. We have had enough.

We cannot follow the example set by people who have lost the path.

As kids there is not much we can do but turn to our Creator in prayer.

May Allah heal the world, with its people and create peace. Perfect peace.

A world that we can be happy, free and loved.

There is also another one making the rounds on Facebook.

You can change your profile pictures to every colour of the rainbow, you can march to the end of the world, you can pray in tongues, you can create hashtags, you can call men trash and men will still continue to rape, rob and murder you.

People have this weird view that social media is real life and when you’re a keyboard warrior, you’re actually changing s**t.

When a rapist is gonna rape, do you actually think he’s gonna pause and go: “Damn, Kanene Esinaso’s profile picture is purple so what I’m doing is wrong.” Nah they’re still gonna rape you.

Yonke lento starts in the community.

We all know that husband who beats his wife, we all know that guy who raped and never got arrested, we all know that man who shouldn’t be around young children and we all know the local gangster.

It starts by exposing these kinds of men that we can actually solve this problem.
