Police searching for missing five-year-old girl

THE SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit in Kakamas has requested the public’s assistance in locating a missing five-year-old girl, Sharna “Meisie” Bason, from Alheit, Kakamas.

Sharna was last seen on Friday at around 6pm when she went to a local shop in Alheit with other children.

According to information received, she was last seen alone outside the shop and did not return to her home.

Police spokesperson Captain Nelis Prins said Sharna was reported missing on Saturday.

“Members of Kakamas SAPS, Kakamas FCS and the community are currently searching for the missing child,” said Prins.

Any person who may have information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact Captain Vrede Myburgh on 060 984 3529 or the Kakamas SAPS on 054 431 6800.

The public is reminded that there is no waiting period to report a person missing.
