Three women and 15 men were arrested at their homes on charges including attempted murder, robbery, assault GBH, possession of drugs, malicious damage to property and warrant of arrests.

THE ROODEPAN SAPS detectives arrested 18 suspects during a sting operation on Friday, August 20 at 4am in Roodepan, Lerato Park, Jacksonville, Homevale and Galeshewe.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sergio Kock said three women and 15 men were arrested at their homes on charges including attempted murder, robbery, assault GBH, possession of drugs, malicious damage to property and warrant of arrests.

“The suspects should be appearing in court soon.”

The provincial head for Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences, Brigadier Nicky Mills commended the Roodepan Detective unit under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Christopher Mashodi for their commitment and professionalism that led to these arrests.

“We are celebrating women’s month and cleaning our streets from all unwanted elements to ensure that everyone is and feels safe,” Mills added.
