A TEAM of Roodepan Detectives, led by Lieutenant-Colonel Rupert Mashodi, arrested 14 suspects who have been on the run from the police.

The arrests were made on Friday after the team embarked on a wanted suspects tracing operation.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam said the suspects have been on the run from the police for various crimes including attempted murder, theft, robbery, housebreaking and theft, assault GBH and contravention of protection order.

“The suspects have been evading court appearance dates while others violated court orders,” said Sam.

“The suspects were apprehended and arrested at their respective homes in and around Roodepan and will appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon.”

The Roodepan station commander, Colonel Pieter Jansen, commended the team members for bringing the wanted suspects to book and warned that the police “will leave no stone unturned in finding those that are seen to be on the wrong side of the law”.
