CAPE TOWN – South Africa has recorded 10 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 75 while infections are now at 3 953, a sharp increase of 318.
Health minister Zweli Mkhize made the announcement on Thursday evening.
Mkhize said that to date 143 570 Covid-19 tests have been conducted.
The Western Cape has now surpassed Gauteng with the number of confirmed positive cases. The Cape has recorded 1 279 while Gauteng sits at 1 252.
The new deaths are from the following provinces:
Western Cape: 6
KwaZulu-Natal: 2
Gauteng: 1
Eastern Cape: 1
