ACTRESS Sindi Majola has opened up about her romantic relationship with the late singer, Brenda Fassie, her family dynamics and addressed the online speculations that she is homeless.

She recently appeared on the “Own Narrative Podcast”.

Majola’s acting career started on eTV’s Backstage soapie, playing the character of Lindi Shabalala.

She appeared on popular telenovelas such as SABC1’s Zone 14 where she played the character of Sindi Sibiya.

She also appeared on dramas such Yizo Yizo, Rhythm City, Isithembiso and Tsotsi.

The host, Promise Makunyane asked Majola about her relationship with the late singer, Brenda Fassie and Majola revealed that she had a lot in common with Fassie, and not only did Fassie inspire her, but she motivated her to live her truth.

And they were both in love with one another, she said.

“I love it when you call it a relationship because it was not a love affair, it was more of a companionship. To me, Brenda was bad-mouthed and disrespected yet so admired by the world.

“And I was so curious to say why did she choose me, why she did not want to leave my side and what is it that was hooking her so much to me?

“I met a very loving and caring human being who is just troubled. I felt that she was a troubled soul yet so beautiful inside and out,” she said.

Asked about her family dynamic, Majola revealed that she never received any support from her family members.

“Not even one family member said to me that they are proud of me. When I come back home from school they would say things like I do prostitution in Johannesburg,” the teary actress revealed.

She also shared that when she was 13-years-old she got raped by a family member, which led her to get pregnant.

Majola also shared that the deaths of both Fassie and her mother affected her because she lost two people she loved dearly in two consecutive years.

Fassie died in 2004 and her mother passed on the following year.

The 50-year-old trended last month and social media users claimed that she was homeless and they claimed that she looked drunk.

However she rejected the claims that she was not well and stated that she is happy in her life.
