People are really taking things too far when it comes to experimenting with food. No one is saying you can’t push the boundaries and try new things, but surely there’s a limit to just how far you can go.

Once again, a food TikTok has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. We’ve seen food trends like the feta pasta bake and carrot ribbon salad go viral, but if you think all weird food combinations will have people rushing to try your concoction, you have to come up with something truly special.

Now, green pap is definitely not going to be a trend that catches on!

Just because food colouring exists doesn’t mean it should be used in everything.

A few days ago, TikToker @Happiness, who often shares how she prepares her meals, posted another one of her dishes, and this time it caused quite a stir.

The first thing you see in the video is her stirring a pot of green pap. Yes, green!

This might sound a little gross, but she explains that the reason she made green pap was to see if her “sh*t is going to be green.” She says it with a giggle, so one can only assume she’s joking. We hope!

But the bizarre dish doesn’t end with the brightly coloured pap.

She goes on to plate up the dish by adding wors, a few strawberries, and then pouring Amasi over the pap.

While the sausage is understandable, one has to wonder where the fresh strawberries fit into the mix.

Yes, the green pap is already outrageous, but it’s the strawberry addition that has left viewers scratching their heads.

With over a million views and almost 41,000 likes, the video has officially gone viral.

One confused TikToker wrote: “I was gonna excuse the green pap… but adding amasi and strawberries??”

“I can’t believe the green pap is the least stressful thing about this dish,” commented another.

Another person compared the pap to cleaning products, saying: “Aowa, pine gel with strawberries and wors!”

Someone else agreed, writing: “I thought you were making pine gel.”

Now viewers are demanding a follow-up video of her eating this bizarre concoction.

“We want to see the food that you cook!” one person insisted.

Well, in her bio she does say “I’m not a chef,” so people probably shouldn’t expect gourmet meals.

While green pap might be a little too wild for some, there is another TikToker who has gone viral for using food colouring to create psychedelic dishes.

Cape Town creator Nadia Booth first went viral for her blue and green rice, and then started colouring just about everything, including pasta.

Sure, we are the rainbow nation, but come on now, our food doesn’t have to look like one!
