After being abroad for more than 32 years, 'Mr Summer Love' is back where it all started
AFTER living abroad for more than 32 years, one of the Northern Cape’s first recording artists, Jackson Cassidy is returning to his roots.
Popularly known as “Mr Summer Love” will not only be performing in the city, but he is also busy setting up the Northern Cape arm of the cultural exchange programme he works with in France.
“I’m excited to be home. I’m feeling really good and the reception I have received has been phenomenal. I’m honoured to be back home,” Cassidy said.
Cassidy’s rise to fame came in the early 80s with is hit single “Summer Love”. He has gone to release a compilation of seven disco hits in 1986 and Sondhela in 1991.
After working with the likes of international music greats such as Bitty McLean, Sly and Robby, Prince Robbert Maseko and Karl W Davis, Cassidy believes it is now time to work with the youth.
Cassidy will be performing at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre on October 28. Tickets are available on Computicket.
